Question:
I am having trouble logging on to My VT and sometimes get a "Cannot Log On to Website" error message. What should I do?
Answer:
If you are having difficulty logging on to My VT, try the following troubleshooting tips:
-
If you used "http://www.my.vt.edu" for the Web address, try dropping the "www" and use "http://my.vt.edu".
-
Make sure you have cookies enabled on your browser. For instructions, refer to Enabling Cookies (http://answers.vt.edu/ask4help/email/vtkb1764.htm).
-
If you are running Mac OS and use Internet Explorer, use another browser, such as Safari and Mozilla.
-
If you subscribe to AOL for Internet access, do not use the AOL Web browser. My VT does not support it. Instead, use another browser to log on to My VT after you dial into AOL.
For more information about My VT and its requirements, refer to the My VT page (http://www.computing.vt.edu/classes_and_courseware/my_vt/index.html).
