Question:
How do I add recipients to my LISTSERV list?
Answer:
Go to the
List Management Tools
page
(http://listserv.vt.edu/cgi-bin/wa.cgi?LMGT1)
.
In the
E-mail Address
text box, type the e-mail address you used to create the list.
In the
Password
text box, type your password.
Click the
Login
button.
Click the
Follow This Link
option.
Select the list to which you want to add subscribers.
Add subscribers to your list.
To add a group of subscribers:
Click the
Bulk
icon.
Note:
The file used must be a plain .txt file. Word, WordPad, or Excel will not work correctly.
Note:
The correct form for the name is [pid@vt.edu] then[First Name] [Last Name]. Any other form will not work.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
To add individual subscribers:
Click the
Subscribers
icon.
Under
Add a New User to the List
: In the Name and Address text box, type the person's e-mail address.
Select a notification option.
If you want to send the person a subscription confirmation, select the
Send Welcome Message
option.
If you do not want to send the subscriber a confirmation notice, select the
Do Not Notify the User in Any Way
option.
Click the
Add to [List Name]
button.
Note:
Replace [List Name] with the name of your mailing list.
