Important:

To set up your static IP address:

  1. From the Apple menu, select System Preferences.
  2. Click the Network icon.
  3. Configure your network settings.
  4. In the IP Address text box, type your IP address.
  5. In the Subnet Mask text box, type your subnet mask.

    Note: If you are a student, your subnet mask is 255.255.255.0

  6. In the Router text box, type your default gateway.

    Note: If you are a student, your default gateway is your IP address with a 1 in the last section of the IP address.

    Example: If your IP address is 198.82.240.70, your gateway will be 198.82.240.1

  7. Set your DNS Server Search Order.
  8. Apply the settings:
  9. Close the Network window.
