There are two ways to access your personal space on the NAS. You can either map a drive or use the Uniform Naming Convention method:

• Mapping a network drive method:
  1. Open your computer's properties.
     • In Windows XP: Click the Start button, and select My Computer.
     • In Windows 2000: Double-click the My Computer icon on your desktop.
  2. From the Tools menu, select Map Network Drive.
  3. From the Drive drop-down list, select the drive letter you want to map.
  4. In the Folder text box, type: \\storage.vt.edu\[Your mystore location]\[Your Hokies ID]
     
     
     Notes:

     • Replace [Your Hokies ID] with your Hokies ID.
  5. If you would like the drive to be mapped each time you log on to your workstation, place a check in the Reconnect at Logon check box.
  6. If you are logged on to your Hokies account, click Finish. If not:
     1. Click the Different User Name link.
     2. In the User Name text box, type: Hokies\[Your Hokies ID]
        
        
        Note: Replace [Your Hokies ID] with your Hokies ID.
     3. In the Password text box, type your Hokies password.
     4. Click OK.
     5. Click Finish.
• Using the Uniform Naming Convention (UNC) method:
  1. Click the Start button, and then select Run.
  2. In the Open text box, type: \\storage.vt.edu\[Your mystore location]\[Your Hokies ID]

  4. If you are not logged on with your Hokies ID and password:
     1. In the Connect As text box, type: Hokies\[Your Hokies ID]

     2. In the Password text box, type your Hokies password.
     3. Click OK.
