Question:

How do I block or filter e-mail messages from specific senders in Outlook 2000/2002 for Windows 2000/XP?

Answer:

You need to enable and configure the Junk E-mail filter. To do this:

  1. Start Outlook.
  2. Enable the Junk E-mail filter. For instructions, refer to Enabling the Built-in Junk E-mail Filter in Outlook 2000/2002 for Windows 2000/XP (http://answers.vt.edu/ask4help/email/vtkb1793.htm).
  3. In your Inbox, right-click a message from the sender you want to add, select Junk E-mail, and then select Add to Junk Senders List.
  4. Click OK.
  5. From the Tools menu, select Organize.
  6. In the second bulleted item, from the third drop-down list, select Junk Mail.
  7. Click the Create button. This will create a rule to send all messages from the sender to your Junk Mail folder.
  8. To run this rule on messages currently in your Inbox, click the Yes button.
  9. Click the Server button.
  10. Close the Ways to Organize Inbox window.
