1. Start Outlook Express.
2. From the Tools menu, select Accounts.
3. Select the Directory Service tab.
4. Select directory.vt.edu.
   Note: If directory.vt.edu is not listed:

   1. Click the Add button, and then select Directory Service.
   2. In the Internet Directory (LDAP) Server text box, type: directory.vt.edu
   3. Clear the My LDAP Server Requires Me To Log On check box.
   4. Click Next.
   5. Read the next window and select Yes or No.
   6. Click Next.
   7. Click Finish.
   8. Select directory.vt.edu.

5. Click the Properties button.
6. In the Server Name text box, type: directory.vt.edu
7. Clear the This Server Requires Me To Log On check box.
8. Select the Advanced tab.
9. Clear the This Server Requires a Secure Connection (SSL) check box.
10. Slide the Search Timeout slider to 1 minute.
11. In the Search Base text box, type: ou=people,dc=vt,dc=edu
12. Click OK.
13. Click the Close button.
14. Restart Outlook Express.
