Why did my amount of disk space used not change after deleting messages in Junk Mail Manager (JMM)?

Answer:

You need to empty your trash before the amount of disk space used will go down.

Note: It is not necessary to empty your trash, as quarantined items will automatically expire after a period of time designated by the system administrator. Keeping these messages increases your chances of finding a message that was incorrectly quarantined.
