4Help recommends that you always use the Add/Remove Programs control panel to uninstall registered programs, including file sharing programs. Failure to use this tool can cause problems in your operating system. Following are instructions to remove BearShare, KaZaa, LimeWare, and Morpheus in Windows.

To remove BearShare, KaZaa, LimeWire, or Morpheus from your computer:

1. Uninstall your P2P program using the Add/Remove Programs utility. For instructions, refer to the appropriate article below:

   Notes:

   • If your P2P client does not appear in the list of programs or does not uninstall properly, reinstall it and repeat the above instructions.
   • If you are trying to uninstall Limewire and receive a "0x80040707" internal error, download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility. For more information, refer to Microsoft's Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility page (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=290301).
2. Delete your P2P client's program folder.
   1. Open your computer's properties.
      • In Windows Vista, click the Start, and select Computer.
      • In Windows XP, click the Start button, and select My Computer.
   2. Double-click the drive on which you installed your file sharing program.
   3. Double-click the Program Files folder.
   4. Right-click your Program's Folder, and select Delete.
   5. To confirm its deletion, click the Yes button.
   6. Close all windows.
