Question:
How do I connect to Dreamweaver 8 using WebDAV?
Answer:

Connect to Dreamweaver 8.

From pull down menu, select Site.

Select New Site.

Under the box labeled, "What would you like to name your site?" type: www.charlie.vt.edu/.

Under the box labeled, "What is the HTTP Address (URL) of your site?" type: webdav.hosting.vt.edu/www.charlie.vt.edu.

Click Next.

Make sure the button labeled "No, I don't want to use a server technology" is selected.

Click Next.

Leave the button "Edit local copies on my machine, then upload them to server when ready (recommended)" selected.

From the "Where on your computer to do want to store your files?" menu, click on the
folder icon and find the document directory that you created.

Click Next.

From the "How do you connect to your remote server?" drop-down menu, select "Web DAV"

In "What is the URL of your WebDAV server?" type: webdav.hosting.vt.edu/www.charlie.vt.edu.

Type your VT PID in "What is your WebDAV login?".

Type your VT PID password in "What is your WebDAV password?".

Test your connection to the hosting server by clicking on "Test Connection".

If the connect was successful you will receive the following message:
"Macromedia Dreamweaver connected to your Web server successfully".

Click OK.

Click "No, do not enable check in and check out."

Click Next.

Dreamweaver will then give you the settings for your Web Site.
